The history of Bauman Massa, as it is known today, began many years ago when an ambitious youth walked the streets looking for a job. This 13-year-old boy and his family came to America from Germany. His aggressive method of job hunting differed from the traditional resume and interview of today. He pounded the pavement, entering shops and stores asking, "Do you need a boy?" Bauman Massa proved to be an 'open door'. Hired to run errands, clean, get coffee and whatever else was demanded of him, the young man observed the Company's operations, was intrigued with the business and saw new opportunities develop for his future.

A family tradition had begun. Little did the young man know when he accepted that job as an errand boy that he would learn to love the jewelry business and that this new found love would be passed on to generations.

118 years and four generations later, Bauman Massa has established a reputation of integrity, excellent service and high standards that they continue to build upon.

Bauman Massa is pleased to offer you a wide range of jewelry to suit your customers' needs. Their expanded inventory offers simulated and cultured pearls, loose diamonds, plain and engraved wedding bands, diamond bridal sets, solitaires and complimentary jackets, pendants and earrings, diamonds and color rings.

Ernest Slotar is a diamond importer and contract manufacturer, specializing in the Cut by Gauge® line of diamonds. The name Cut by Gauge® is literally derived from the method used to produce some of the world's finest diamonds. Master diamond cutters polish facets then check, or gauge, that all the facets are placed perfectly for maximum light refraction and brilliance.

The Cut by Gauge® line began with the Cut by Gauge® round. Today the Cut By Gauge® round would be classified by the AGS as an "ideal" cut round brilliant diamond. Many years later as square trends began to emerge, ERNEST SLOTAR, INC. recognized the inconsistency in make with square cut diamonds. They answered with the Cut by Gauge® Lucére® Diamond. Using the Cut by Gauge® principals they adhered to strict parameters while manufacturing, resulting in the finest ideal cut square diamond on the market. The line was then expanded into ovals and pears still adhering the strict parameters resulting in consistently well made goods.

Back in the 1970s, when the whole space age thing was hitting its peak, the Hamilton Watch company came up with a new style of watch. In 1972, they released their first 'Pulsar' watch into the market place. This watch was the first of its kind - electronic quartz with a light emitting diode (LED), digital display and a radically new space-age look. A contemporary press report described the source of the watch name as 'those strange distant spinning stars which send quick and regular radio 'bleeps' from our space.' Sound far-out to you?

Well, not to the general public. Those strange spinning stars inspired an incredible trend. Pulsar watches were a huge hit and to this day the original watches are highly-prized collectors items. In time, the original boom waned; but not before the Pulsar brand name had made an enduring impression worldwide.

In 1979, following a series of changes in brand ownership, Pulsar watches with new looks and new features were introduced to the United States market by SEIKO Corporation of America. This series was the first full line of all-quartz men's and ladies' wrist watches.

The brand was a huge success and in 1980, Pulsar was launched in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and other important European markets. The brand grew rapidly, as it did in the United States. Today, Pulsar is a major brand in all European countries, as well as in Australia, Canada, Africa and Israel.

Over twenty years after its launch Pulsar continues its tradition of design and technological excellence, and its latest creations are at the cutting edge of watch styling. You can rest assured that each and every Pulsar watch is built to the highest standards of quality - Pulsar is a trademark of Seiko Corporation - the world's leading maker of quality timepieces. You can rely on Pulsar's products and on an after sales service network that is at your disposal worldwide. Check out the Contacts section and you'll see!

History was made in Japan's timepiece industry in 1881, when K. Hattori & Co., Ltd. (later renamed Seiko Corporation) began wholesaling and retailing imported watches and clocks. In 1892, Seikosha Co., Ltd., the Seiko Group's first manufacturing division, was established to make wall clocks. But in terms of industrial history, Japan's most significant contribution was the development of the quartz watch.   Visit the Seiko website
